Wesley Snipes to Return as Blade

Fresh from picking up the soap in the showers on regular intervals, Wesley Snipes has recently returned to the Hollywood scene with a role in the new Expendables 3 film, along with every other actor ever over the age of 50. Keen to stay in the lime light and prove to the tax man that he has finally learnt how to file his end of year tax return, rumours are abound that Snipes is close to signing up to star in a revival of the Blade franchise.

Back in 1998, Wesley Snipes first starred as Blade, a half-vampire, half mortal man, who became the unofficial protector of the human race from evil vampires. The film spawned two sequels, the second of which was by far Blade’s easiest test, as the plot involved him defeating half of the 80’s boyband Bros.

The New York Daily News has today reported that Snipes has been offered $3 million to reprise the role of Blade, and a cut of the film’s profits. When recently interviewed by MTV, Snipes said ” I’d love to get back in the suit again and do some things I’ve learned how to do now that I didn’t know how to do then.”

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet by Marvel, but as they seem to be releasing a film every 25 minutes, Snipes could well be seen again soon in his most popular and successful role to date.
