For many years, Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone have been known as heavy weights in the movie industry. Now they are set to become heavy weights in the boxing ring, as they aim to pummel each others faces in, in the newly released trailer for Grudge Match.

The film stars De Niro and Stallone as boxers who were at the top of their profession in the 1980’s. They only fought twice, and won one match each, but their deciding grudge match never happened, as Henry “Razor” Sharp (Stallone) announced his retirement before the fight took place.

Thirty years later, both boxers meet at a filming for a boxing based computer game, but their bitter rivalry leaves the filming in ruins, as all they are interested in is knocking each others teeth out. Clips of the rumble appear on line, which go viral, and before long, the grudge match is back on the cards.Following some seriously intense training, including pulling a big lorry through a scrap yard, and doing roughly one chin up, will it be Billy “The Kid” McDonnen (De Niro) or Henry Sharp who emerge victorious?

As movie roles go, both actors have some pretty good experience playing boxers. Robert De Niro won an Oscar for his harrowing portrayal of a self destructive boxer’s journey through life in Raging Bull, and Stallone has grunted his way through roughly thirty four Rocky movies.

Also starring Alan Arkin (Argo)and Kevin Hart (Think Like a Man) as their respective motivators, the film is due for release in UK cinemas on the 24th of January 2014.
