Official Trailer for Sicario Released

We all know drugs are bad, right kids? Unless you’ve got a tickly cough and need some Tixylix, in which case drugs are good. We also all know that Mexican food is great, after all, who doesn’t like Fajitas…. Areeba!!! But if you combine Mexicans and drugs, then you have a recipe for a Mexican drug based disaster, which is, uncannily, the plot of Sicario, the first trailer for which you can see below.

Sicario, despite what many people think, it is not a family sized Citroen car. It means ‘Hitman’ in Mexican, and the film is set in the lawless borders between America and Mexico, where dangerous drug wars are fought on a daily basis. With a higher body count than an episode of Game of Thrones, the FBI try their best to curtail the drug based crime, but often find themselves fighting a losing battle.

Thrown in at the deep end is FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt), who has been recruited by elite Government agent Matt (played by the man who looks just like Tommy Lee Jones but isn’t, but no one can remember his name.) As they head deep into Mexican territory along with slightly dodgy consultant Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro), Kate faces a journey that forces her to question everything she knows about right and wrong, as she finds herself caught in the middle of a cat and mouse game between the FBI and an all powerful drug lord, who will not hesitate tequila to kill her.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Sicario, which went down a storm at the Cannes Film Festival this year, is released in UK cinemas on November the 6th.
