Where’s Jeff Goldblum when you need him? Jurassic Park is back, and clearly lessons haven’t been learnt since Jeff tried his best not to be eaten whilst remaining surprisingly upbeat in the original Jurassic Park, way back in 1993. Directed by Colin Trevorrow and with executive producer Steven Spielberg still pulling the strings, the first full trailer for Jurassic World has now been released, and as you will see, Alton Towers still seems the safer option.
Set 22 years after the original Jurassic Park and still with the original poorly designed main gates (you can already guess that trouble lies ahead) Jurassic World focusses on a fully functioning Dinosaur theme park, which was the life long dream of Doctor John Hammond (played by the late, great Richard Attenborough). With 20,000 visitors a day, and a management team hell bent on pushing for bigger, better dinosaurs, it’s little surprise when a genetically modified dinosaur goes mental, escapes, and starts to eat everyone it can lay it’s tiny arms on, but fortunately starting on the characters with only minor parts first. Chris Pratt stars as heroic park ranger Owen, who does his best to dissuade management from messing with dinosaur DNA, all whilst wearing a snazzy leather waistcoat. Also starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson, Jurassic World opens its doors to UK cinemas on June the 12th 2015.
