At the end of Rise of The Planet of the Apes in 2011, things looked pretty bad for the human race as a whole, and not just the Americans for a change. The Apes had taken over, the Golden Gate Bridge was destroyed, ruining what was a picturesque photo opportunity for tourists, and a humanity killing virus was beginning to spread across the world.
Directed by Mat Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of The Apes continues the story ten years further down the line, where the apes have genetically evolved to become more intelligent, stronger, angrier, and with the ability to loosely apply make-up. Life has become a daily battle for those humans who have survived, and led by Dreyfus (Gary Oldman), they aim to try and restore some sort of peace with the Apes. But judging by how angry Caesar, leader of the ape army is, it could take the entire one hundred and twelve minute running time to get anyway near close to this. If they are able to achieve piece will be seen when the film is released in the UK on July the 17th 2014.
