Mexfest London (11th-14th July)


Mexfest has arrived! What is Mexfest? A celebration of all things Mexican! Films! Food! Art! Music!

From 11th-14th July, there will be outdoor films and parties!

We’ve previewed some of the film highlights:


Veracruz (1954) @ Rich Mix 2pm

Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster play two soldiers escorting a countess across the gulf of Mexico.


After Lucia (2012) @ Rich Mix 6pm

After Lucia won the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes and was nominated for Best Film at the London Film Festival. It follows a father and his daughter after the death of his wife, Lucia.


Nacho Libre (2006) @ Canary Wharf 7.30pm

Comedy-drama starring Jack Black as a Catholic priest who dreams of becoming a masked luchador (mexican wrestler).


The Young and the Damned / Los Olvidados (1950) @ BFI 4pm

Classic from Luis Bunuel about a group of young people living in the crime-ridden slums of Mexico City. The film won the Best Director award at Cannes in 1951.
