‘Halley’ wins Best Feature at East End Film Festival

Halley, the feature debut from director Sebastian Hofmann has won the award for Best Feature at this year’s East End Film Festival.

The Mexican horror film is about a friendship between employees at a 24-hour gym.

Mark Adams of Screen International called it ‘A disturbingly stylish and surrealistic drama’.

On the jury were last year’s winner Armando Bo (El Ultimo Elvis), The Guardian film critic Peter Bradshaw, Terrence Malick’s producer Nicolas Gonda, My Brother The Devil director Sally El Hosaini, and musician, filmmaker and actor RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. [East End Film Festival]

The East End Film Festival celebrated its 12th year running with its biggest ever programme. Time Out commented that EEFF is ‘fast becoming London’s second best film festival (after the unassailable London Film Festival)’.
