Godzilla poster unveiled ahead of Comic-Con

Kaiju’s have already attempted to take on planet Earth in this year’s Pacific Rim, but now the King of Monsters is about to get his turn in Gareth Edwards (monsters) eagerly anticipated Godzilla reboot.

The first scenes made public are set to be unveiled at Comic-Con later this week but for now we have this epic poster to whet our appetite, highlighting the giagantic scale of Japan’s most famous mostrous export.

Despite appearing in over 28 films to date this is only his second Hollywood outing, and Edward’s promises that his return will be a far more serious outing than Roland Emmerich’s poorly received plot-shunning version from 1998, taking Godzilla back to his roots as a terrifying force of nature.

Little is known about the ins and outs of the feature however we do know that whilst the Japanese original was a reference to atomic bomb testing this one is set to involve a more contemporary issue, tied in with a compelling human element.

Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson (of Kick Ass fame), Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche and Bryan Cranston, Godzilla is set for release on May 16th 2014.
