After a standout year of superhero infused television, having followed the first season of Daredevil with the even more audacious Jessica Jones, the “Devil of Hell’s Kitchen” is coming back to Netflix next 18th of March for a second round of vigilante justice.
Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and his New York adventures is back with new “frenemies” (we are sure they will be both during the span of the series) and old Marvel comics staples Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Yung). And back for a second round are Matt’s trusty sidekicks: fellow lawyer Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), friendly nurse Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), and love interest Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).
What made the first season such a standout was the intriguing characters and how the lines between good and evil were constantly under scrutiny. No one is safe from the public eye in Hell’s Kitchen, and both Daredevil and his nemesis made incredibly tough choices throughout the span of 13 episodes.
Expect further interaction with characters from other Marvel properties (Rosario Dawson appeared in an episode of Jessica Jones), as the show gets intertwined with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. And if series two can offer a villain as compelling as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, then we sure are in for another binge worthy session of great “lawyer by day, hero by night” action. No word if Mr. Fisk will show up again, but here’s hoping that he will…
