“Chewie, we’re home!” New Star Wars Trailer Released

“Chewie, we’re home” could possibly go down as the greatest ever film quote ever heard ever. Finish eating your dinner, put down your homework, turn off the TV or stop with the heavy petting. A brand new trailer has today been released for Star Wars episode VII, and you can see this very trailer below (Those of you who need to put on your Star Wars costume first, hurry up).

The second teaser trailer for J.J. Abram’s take on the immense Star Wars universe was unveiled today at the Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Centre in Anaheim, California, and was jam packed packed with nerds from all over the world, who literally went mental at the sight of the new trailer.

Giving the fans exactly what they wanted, the new trailer finally reveals a first glimpse of the rebel heroes from the original trilogy, namely Luke Skywalker (who narrates the trailer), R2D2, Princess Leia (although she must have just had a bath as she is still in her dressing gown), Chewbacca, and rebel scum but loveable rogue Han Solo.

The original Star Wars cast, before Princess Leia shaved off her beard in an effort to look prettier.

There’s so much to see in the trailer, including Star Destroyers, Tie Fighters, Storm Troopers, X-Wing Fighters and a Darth Vader mask made out of chewing gum (presumably for the unseen child’s school project). If you don’t watch the trailer at least 46 times by tomorrow, we’ll be very surprised. Not much is given away about the plot though, so fans will still be left guessing, and many will be able to waste their days endlessly blogging about what they think the plot will be about, instead of getting an actual job.

Joining old cast members Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels are Daisy Ridley as scavenger Rey, John Boyega as Stormtrooper Finn, Oscar Isaac as X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron and Adam Driver as Darth Vader’s replacement, Kylo Ren, to name but a few.

Co written and directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in the UK on December the 18th. Tell Santa to not bother coming this year, Christmas is now officially all about Star Wars.
