Not content to be left downwind of Superman and Batman’s flowing capes, Joss Whedon revealed the title of the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, complete with a logo-unveiling teaser, at Comic-Con 2013.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will mark the theatrical debut of the eponymous robotic super-villain, who first appeared as a cameo in Marvel’s comic book Avengers #54 in 1968. The creation of Dr. Henry Pym, Ultron’s artificial intelligence grew in authenticity, as it established itself as a fearsome antagonist to the Avengers, as well as its architect.

Whedon’s words were minimal, opting instead to unleash Ultron on the path to disassemble the Avengers.

What are your thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron? How does it compare to the news of the Man of Steel sequel? And how will Ultron size up as a cinematic super-villain? Leave your comments below.
