Not content to be left downwind of Superman and Batman’s flowing capes, Joss Whedon revealed the title of the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, complete with a logo-unveiling teaser, at Comic-Con 2013.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will mark the theatrical debut of the eponymous robotic super-villain, who first appeared as a cameo in Marvel’s comic book Avengers #54 in 1968. The creation of Dr. Henry Pym, Ultron’s artificial intelligence grew in authenticity, as it established itself as a fearsome antagonist to the Avengers, as well as its architect.
Whedon’s words were minimal, opting instead to unleash Ultron on the path to disassemble the Avengers.
