2014 BAFTA Awards Winners

Yesterday evening the winners for the 2014 BAFTA Awards were announced at the annual ceremony hosted at the Royal Opera House and presented by Stephen Fry. “12 Years a Slave” won the top prices of Best Film and Best Actor for Chiwetel Ejofor. Best Director went to Alfonso Cuarón for “Gravity”. Best Original Screenplay went to David O Russell and Eric Warren Singer for “American Hustle”. “Philomena” was awarded Best Adapted Screenplay – Steve Coogan and Jeff Pope had already won the Best Screenplay at the recent Venice Film Festival. Cate Blanchett was named Best Actress for the Woody Allen film “Blue Jasmine”. In the Foreign Film section, Sorrentino triumphed with his “The Great Beauty”. “The Act of Killing” won Best Documentary.
